My Favourite TV Shows| CarenzaOnBooks

A while back, I made a post all about my favourite movies. In the spirit of that post, I thought I'd make one all about my favourite TV shows. I have a lot of favourite TV shows so picking my favourites is going to be interesting.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine may be my favourite TV show of all time. I only started watching it in March of this year, but I've watched every series at least 4 times. I love that the episodes are only twenty minutes each. The characters are all great. It has the perfect balance between comedy and series moments. Series Six wasn't the best, but I'm hoping once I rewatch it once it drops on Netflix.

Merlin

This is definitely a childhood favourite, however I watched a few years ago and I still really enjoyed it. It could be that I have a lot of memories attached to it, but Merlin and Arthur are great characters. It adapted a well known story into a classic TV show. I rewatched it for the first time since it finished back in 2012 last year and I was surprised by how much I still enjoyed it.

Sherlock

I still remember watching the very first episode way back in 2010. The wait between seasons would always be antagonising. I rewatched the entire series on Netflix this summer and fell in love with it again. It's cleverly written. The actors are incredibly talented. Part of me wishes I could experience this show afresh over and over because it's that good. Sherlock will always have a special place in my heart.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This is the only show on this list that I haven't seen all the episodes for. I have about ten episodes of the final season left to watch and I am determined to finish them before the end of the year. I was raised listening to the soundtrack for Once More With Feeling. Buffy is a phenomenal show and despite the fact that the last episode aired over 16 years ago, it feels timeless. Once I've finally finished Buffy, I will watch Angel.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

If you've been a long time reader of my blog, then this one will probably not come as a surprise. When I first stumbled across Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, I just thought it sounded a bit entertaining and was in need of a new series to watch. Little did I know that I would go on to watch it at least three times in that year. I'm still gutted that it never got a third series as it rightfully deserves. If it ever does, I will be over the moon.

Honourable Mentions

Like with my my best films post, I thought I'd include some honourable mentions.

Grimm

I've actually just started to rewatch Grimm for the first time since the final season aired and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. I've also forgotten how much of a slow burn this show has. It's another one with great characters and a great world. Can't wait to continue my rewatch.

Lucifer

This is somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine, but I can't help but love Lucifer! It has to be mainly because of Tom Ellis' phenomenal acting skills. I am dying for season five and cannot believe it's going to be the last one.

Agent Carter

If Agent Carter hadn't been cancelled and had had a decent ending, it would have made it on to my favourites section. Peggy is an amazing character and I loved the tone of the show. It's one I'd love to see them revive at some point in the future.

Doctor Who

I had to include Doctor Who on the list, it was non-negotiable. I've been watching it faithfully since I was a kid. My favourite doctor has to be David Tennant. I'm always excited for the next season and can't wait to see what they do with the show as the years progress.

Game of Thrones

If it hadn't have been for the final season, Game of Thrones might have made it on to the favourites list. However, due to the dreadful final season, it deserves to be in honourable mentions. I loved the characters and how invested I became. If only it hadn't had such a dreadful final season, the potential that was wasted!

July Favourites 2017| CarenzaOnBooks

Now that we're safely in August, I can talk about all the things I loved in July. July flew by and it's hard to imagine that we're now in August. I have a favourite book, as well as some favourite cultural things that happened in July to share with you all.

Books

My favourite book of the month was Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu. I read this in one day, it's one of my top reads of 2017. If you are looking for some YA feminism, then this is the book for you. It's not out in the UK yet, but you can buy it from WH Smiths as it's part of the Zoella Book Club. I will be writing a review on it very soon and I need to find more people who've read it to fangirl with.

Culture

If you've been following my blog for a while, then you will know I fell in love with a play called Snow in Midsummer that was on at the RSC. Well, I may have found something I love even more. I saw Angels in America (performed at the National Theater, London, but via a NT Live broadcast to cinemas) and I am obsessed. It is a fantastic play, the production was beautiful and the actors in it are exceptionally talented. It's told in two parts and I saw it over two weeks. If it gets broadcast again, I will 100% go and see it again. I've ordered the script and need to get a programme and basically spend the rest of my life talking about how much I love this play.

Something else I did that was pretty cool in July was go to a practice race for Formula One when it came to the UK. It was a amazing experience and something I would do again. The atmosphere was tangible and every time Lewis Hamilton drove past the audience would clap.

One of my most anticipated TV shows came back this July and I am very happy to be watching it live for the first time. I only recently (end of last year) joined the Game of Thrones fandom, and I'm here to stay. Every week it's exciting to see who lives and who dies (don't worry, this is a spoiler free zone). I can't wait to see how this ends and have to wait a whole year for more Thrones.

A TV show that deserves a honorable mention is Poldark. I love Poldark, I can't believe the final episode of this series is this Sunday. Yet another TV show I'll have to await the return of.

Bits'n'Bobs

I only have one bits'n'bobs favourite and that is that I got some new bedding. I know it's not the most exciting thing in the world, but I'm happy with it. It was from Asda and it's gray with cranes and cherry blossoms on it. I really like and will be looking for simple bedding like it in the future.

So that concludes my July Favourites, I really enjoy writing these posts as it allows me to reflect back on the month.

Pop Funko Wishlist 2017| It'sCarenzaB

In February 2016, I began collecting Pop Funkos (also known as pop vinyls or Funko Pops) and since then, my collection has reached double figures. And while I have a lot and I'm very grateful to have so many, there are more that I want to add to my collection. I just want to say that this list is me talking about which ones I want. I do not expect to get all of these. There are so many I want to add to my collection, but these are the ones I really want.

Harry Potter

While most of my collection is Harry Potter themed, there are some that I don't have because they are exclusive to American stores. I'd get them, but shipping is ridiculously expensive and I can't justify that much money on shipping on Pop Funkos.

As I own at least 5 Harry Pops, I'm not too sour about not having this one. It would be nice to add to my collection, but I won't lose any sleep over not having Harry in his hand-made Weasley jumper.
While I'm not too fussed about owning Harry, I would love to have Ron in his Weasley jumper.
I would be over the moon if they brought this version of Bellatrix over to the UK as I love the detail of the Azkaban uniform.
Again, this is another one I wish we had in the UK as the detail on the mask.
I've already said I have a lot of Harry's, but the little Hedwig on this one is just too cute not to want!

Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit

Now, I'm not sure how many of these are still being made, but I would love to add these to my collection as I love watching the films and I'm determined to read the books this summer.

I know there is a new line of LotR Pops coming out this summer and I have to admit, I do love them all. The Belrog is probably my favourite as it's so detailed, but Frodo and Sam are pretty cute.

The one I want the most from the Hobbit range is Smaug as he's amazing and who doesn't want a Dragon Pop Funko?

Here are some of the other characters in the Hobbit line. I would love to have Legolas as he's one of my favourite characters from the movie.

Game of Thrones

Having recently acquired my first Pop in this line, there are several more I would love to add to my collection. I think I might make a separate wishlist for the Game of Thrones Pops as there is so many.
Some of the first wave of GoT Pops
The newest wave
I am dying to add this to my collection!

I love how cute these dragons are!

Sherlock

If you've been following me since January, then you will know that I love the BBC series Sherlock and I have been eyeing up the Pops in that line for a while. I got my friend one of them for her birthday two years ago and she loves it.

Look at little Sherlock's face! I would love to have a little Sherlock Pop in my collection!

Beauty and the Beast

With the new movie coming out on DVD, I would love to get my hands on the Pop Funkos from the live action movie. They're so beautiful and detailed, plus who doesn't want more Emma Watson in their life?

I also would love to add the original cartoon versions to my collection as the cartoon is my favourite Disney film.
Plus look how cute the Beast is and they have a Gaston!

Nightmare Before Christmas

I would love to add these Day of the Dead editions of Sally and Jack as they are so beautiful.

Attack on Titan

With my recent descent into the amazing-ness of Anime, I would love to add the Attack on Titan Pops to my collection.
I would literally die if I could add Mikasa to my collection as she is impossible to get in the UK without being ridiculous expensive.
I am so excited that they are making a Levi Pop Funko as he is my favourite character in the series.

Sadly, Armin is a US exclusive, but one day I hope to add him to my collection.
I have no idea if I'll ever add this to my collection as I don't even know where you can buy him, but any excuse to have more Levi in my life is a good excuse.

And that concludes my very long Pop Funko Wishlist, no doubt in the future I will make another one of these as new Pop Funkos are being released all the time.
Love,
Carenza x
